Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Order data — name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number, order contents and history.
• Account data — email address and password hash, where you create an account.
• Payment data — handled entirely by our payment processor. AVYN never receives or stores full card numbers.
• Support data — the content of tickets, chat sessions and emails you send us.
• Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and referring source, collected through server logs and analytics.
• Preference data — cart contents, the researcher affirmation flag and announcement dismissal, all stored in your own browser rather than on our servers.

Why we collect it

To process and ship orders, provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, meet our legal and record-keeping obligations, and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers.

Data stored in your browser

Cart contents, the researcher affirmation you make on first visit, and the announcement bar dismissal are stored in your browser using localStorage. This data stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and is cleared when you clear site data in your browser.

Who we share data with

• Payment processors, to take payment and screen for fraud.
• Shipping carriers, to deliver your order and provide tracking.
• Email and support platform providers, to send order notifications and handle tickets.
• Analytics providers, in aggregated or pseudonymised form.
• Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to respond.

Retention

Order and transaction records are kept for seven years to meet tax and business record obligations. Support correspondence is kept for three years. Server logs are kept for 90 days. Marketing contact data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict processing, or receive it in a portable format. Residents of California have specific rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what is collected and the right to opt out of sale — AVYN does not sell personal data.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@avynresearch.com from the address associated with your orders. We respond within 30 days and may ask for information to verify your identity before acting.

Cookies and analytics

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep the site working and, where enabled, analytics cookies to understand traffic patterns. Analytics cookies are optional and are not set until you accept them. You can change your choice at any time through your browser settings.

Security

Traffic is served over TLS. Access to order data is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected customers and, where required, regulators, in the event of a breach involving personal data.

Children

This site is not directed to anyone under 21 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact support and we will delete it.
