Thymalin
Research description
Thymalin is a heterogeneous thymic polypeptide complex originally isolated from young calf thymus tissue. Unlike single synthetic peptides, it has no single molecular formula or PubChem CID and is composed of multiple bioactive short peptide fractions, including KE dipeptide, EW dipeptide, and EDP.
It is distinct from Thymulin, a defined zinc-dependent nonapeptide often confused with Thymalin in the peptide market. In the United States, Thymalin is not FDA-approved and has been specifically cited in FDA enforcement action as an unapproved new drug, making accurate, educational, and non-therapeutic positioning essential.
